As Autumn is upon us and winter fast approaching a Boot room is a useful space to hang damp coats and store muddy boots. 

The origins of the Boot Room starts in a typical farmhouse, where it would be positioned by the back door so that farmers could walk in with muddy boots without traipsing mud through the kitchen.

Today, when entering the house, the front door tends to be used instead and having a Boot Room hides all the clutter. The boot room connects the outdoors to the indoors.

You may think you don’t have room for a Boot Room, but they can be positioned anywhere where this an alcove, under stairs cupboard or repurposing an area in your kitchen. The other benefit is extra practical storage to house umbrellas, shoes, school bags.
