We as designers understand the importance of the ‘living kitchen’ where  look and functionality is important for day to day life.  Many people are seeking custom made furniture that can house all the clever technology that is now available and suit their lifestyles.  The kitchen now features a space for cooking, a space for dining, a space for home office work, a space for pets.

With our new found respect for sustainability, pops of colour are earthy tones creating drama and worktops are lighter to reflect light.  Farrow & Ball reflect this with their 2020 collection which aims to bring ‘a little of the outside world into your home’ with colours of Duck Green, Sap Green, soft grey-browns.

Lighting has also become very important in kitchens, depicting the mood of parts of the day and accentuating the design.  There are so many options and the trend is to mix it up!  LED under cupboard lighting, kitchen islands and breakfast bars. Ambient lighting in separate areas such as the cooking area and seating area. Pendant lights are very contemporary and provide a warm glow.
